After putting in a lot of effort, he was given the responsibility of writing car evaluations and frequent opinion columns and was elevated to the position of road-test editor. In 2008, Harris resigned from “Autocar” magazine and co-founded “The Drivers Republic,” a web-based media platform. Harris joined “Evo” magazine as a writer and reviewer after the platform sadly went down a year later. On October 12, 2009, he posted his first article online.
Then he collaborated with ‘/DRIVE,’ a well-known YouTube channel and automobile network, to produce an opinion and review YouTube series. In under two years, this weekly television series, titled “Chris Harris on Cars,” has amassed over 3.5 million viewers throughout its 104 videos. Following this, Harris quit the network in 2014 and launched his own YouTube channel, “Chris Harris on Cars.” His channel currently has 385k subscribers and close to 30 million views. Currently, Harris manages his channel in addition to appearing on NBCSN and participating in automotive-related events and automobile reviews.

After publishing an essay titled “How Ferrari Spins” in 2011, Harris was prohibited from reviewing Ferrari vehicles.
