American journalist Angela Ganote grew up in Brownsburg and has worked for the stations WLFI in Lafayette, WSBT in South Bend, and WCMH in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to a chance encounter with another news anchor, Anne Marie Tiernon, Ganote, an Indiana University graduate, had no clue she would pursue a career in television.

She excelled in school and received her high school diploma in 1990. Ganote then made the decision to enroll at Indiana State University and major in business. She switched her major after a short while to clothes retailing but disliked that as well.

Her parents then advised her to speak with the neighborhood weatherman, Chuck Lofton. He was able to provide her with sound advice, and she switched to Purdue University, declared atmospheric sciences as her major, and earned her degree in 1996.

Angela had a job with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis when she was a student. Following that, she received her first TV job at WLFI-TV 18 in West Lafayette, Indiana. She then worked as a weather forecaster in Sacramento, California, for four years. Ganote relocated back to central Indiana in 2001 and started working at WISH-TV before moving on to WTHR13 in 2012, where she is currently employed. She has won five Emmys for predictions.
