Amna Nawaz is a TV journalist who serves as the main correspondent and fill-in anchor for PBS NewsHour. Before joining PBS in April 2018, Nawaz served as an anchor and correspondent for ABC News and NBC News. Among her many honors are an Emmy and a Society for Features Journalism award.

The Plastic Problem, a 2018 PBS NewsHour program that garnered a Peabody Award in 2019, featured Nawaz as a correspondent. Nawaz was the first Asian American and Muslim to co-moderate a Democratic Party presidential debate in the US in December 2019.

In June 2021, Nawaz was appointed Chief Correspondent of the PBS NewsHour. Judy Woodruff’s replacement as co-anchors of the PBS NewsHour since January 2023 is Nawaz and Geoff, Bennett. Nawaz participates in the Inter-American Dialogue, a Washington, DC-based think tank.
