John Donvan is an Emmy Award-winning journalist, broadcaster, anchor, and debate moderator from the United States, whose best-selling book, In a Different Key: The Story of Autism, was a Pulitzer Prize Finalist. Donvan is also the host of Intelligence Squared the US, a discussion series on NPR and For TV aimed to increase the level of public dialogue in the United States. He is also an accomplished storyteller, having debuted his first one-man show, “Lose the Kid,” in Washington, D.C. in September 2013 under the auspices of SpeakeasyDC.
Donvan joined IQ2 in 2008 as a host and moderator and has also worked as a contributor/writing consultant for ABC News, primarily in Washington, D.C., since 1989. From 1986 until 1989, he worked as a foreign reporter for CNN, covering politics and culture in Europe and the Middle East. In March 1975, he began his career as a radio intern at WGCH Radio, and from 1978 to 1979, he worked as an anchor at WMTW-TV.
