In 1996, his biography “Bare Knuckles and Back Rooms” was the best-selling political book in America.

Rollins was also awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2010. He received the John Ashbrook Award in 2016. The John M. Ashbrook Award is given out each year to honor someone who exemplifies the values of limited constitutional government championed by John M. Ashbrook, the late Ohio congressman and co-founder of the American Conservative Union. President Ronald Reagan was the first to receive the award in 1986.
