American journalist Roxanne Vargas is now the daily morning anchor for NBC 6. She has been a member of the NBC 6 family since 2003, but she only recently joined the news team in May 2006. Vargas has more than 10 years of extensive on-air news experience in her native South Florida, including consumer, health, and entertainment feature reporting as well as covering local and national breaking news. In addition, she was named “Best TV News Anchor” in 2018 and “Best TV Host” in 2012 by the Miami New Times.

She currently co-anchors NBC 6 News’ daily morning broadcast with meteorologists Adam Berg and Angie Lassman, traffic reporter Kristin Sanchez, and Sheli Muiz. Vargas also provides Spanish-language reports to Telemundo 51, NBC 6’s sister station. She previously worked for NBC 6 News at 5 AM, where she covered local, state, and federal breaking news as well as features, entertainment, health, and consumer news. She co-wrote the book 100 Things to do in Miami Before You Die and is also a published author.
