Mike Lynch is a sports correspondent for WCVB Channel 5’s award-winning sports department, where he focuses especially on other important athletic events as well as his famous “High Five” high school sports series and the Thanksgiving night high school football special. Lynch has been a part of the WCVB sports crew since March 1982 and served as the station’s primary evening sports anchor for WCVB for 34 years, starting in September 1985.

Lynch presided over “Patriots All Access,” a weekly sports program that gave viewers an inside peek at New England’s NFL team, from 1995 to 2008 and provided broadcast commentary for Patriots preseason games. He has also provided play-by-play commentary for college football, the New England Patriots, and the Boston Celtics. He presided over the weekly Boston College football coach’s show “Eagles Preview” on Channel 5 for eleven years.

Mike started “High Five,” a weekly NewsCenter 5 report that celebrated the accomplishments of high school sports, in 1985.
