In March 2021, Wentzel became a member of the WPTV First Alert weather team. After initially working as an assignment desk editor at NewsChannel 5 in the late 1990s, she has since returned to WPTV.
Wentzel initially moved to the region to attend Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, where she earned an honors degree and graduated Cum Laude. Wentzel received the National Weather Association and American Meteorology Society seals of approval.
In addition to the ABC and CBS stations in West Palm Beach, Wentzel spent time in a number of areas, including Miami, Tampa, Tallahassee, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles. After wandering throughout the nation, Wentzel is content to be in South Florida and loves being there since it has the only truly tropical climate in the entire country.
