At KCRA-TV, Lunden started her career as a journalist. She later moved on to work in New York for WABC-TV’s “Eyewitness News” program in 1975. Lunden also started serving as a co-anchor for the weekend newscasts. She subsequently started working for GMA as a feature news reporter before filling in as a co-host for ABC’s Winter Olympics coverage. Her journalistic career included several years of presenting alongside Charlie Gibson of ABC.
