Anthony worked as a general assignment reporter and weekday news anchor for the 6 PM and 11 PM newscasts at WVIT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Hartford, Connecticut, before joining Channel 5. With KSPN-TV in Aspen, Colorado, Anthony started his professional broadcasting career in 1984 as a sports reporter and anchor. Later, he was appointed news director at KSPN, where he worked until 1987.
