American journalist Scott Levin gained notoriety while employed for Buffalo, New York’s WGRZ-TV. After joining the station in 1998 as the 5. 6, 10, and 11 o’clock news anchor, he also won an Edward R. Murrow award. Levin was born and raised in the Boston suburbs of Massachusetts, where he also attended Wayland High School and earned a B.S. from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York.

Before beginning his media career in New York City, he had a successful 10-year business career in Virginia. His first journalism position was in Yakima, Washington, where he gained firsthand knowledge of the industry. There, he was given the responsibility of finishing shots, producing and editing reports, and hosting the nightly news.

In Yakima, Washington, Scott got his first job in journalism and began learning the industry from scratch. He worked as a “one-man band” for KNDO-TV, filming, writing, editing, reporting, and anchoring the evening news. Scott returned to Virginia after his stint in Yakima to work as the morning and noon news anchor for WWBT-TV, the top news station in Central Virginia. After five years, Scott moved to Buffalo, New York, to work as the nightly news anchor at WGRZ-TV, where he helped make the station the dominant news source in the Western New York area.

Scott has earned a coveted Edward R. Murrow award in addition to many Emmy awards. Additionally, WGRZ earned multiple NYSBA awards for Best Newscast in 2011 and the AP award for Station of the Year. Being a spouse and parent is Scott’s favorite achievement out of all of them. While residing in Buffalo, Scott met his wife Lisa, with whom he had two stunning kids, Kayla and Sophia.
