Mike Augustyniak Biography
Famous American meteorologist Mike Augustyniak is the director of meteorology for WCCO-TV at the moment. Since he started working at the station in 2008, he has managed to set a new record for the number of cups of coffee consumed in a 10-hour period. When the computer returned to the position of “meteorologist,” I immediately knew it was the one for me.
At the University of Albany, Augustyniak studied meteorology under some of the top researchers in the world. He holds the AMS Television Seal of Approval, a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science, and he is a Phi Beta Kappa member.

Augustyniak also earned a Master of Science in Atmospheric Science from the University of Albany in May 2008. His master’s thesis included original research on the Mohawk-Hudson Convergence, a regional topographical phenomenon that is currently being used to help meteorologists in the region make more precise forecasts.
