Meehan is one of the co-anchors of NewsCenter 5’s weekday morning EyeOpener newscasts. Doug’s last position was as co-anchor of the weekend EyeOpener newscasts on WCVB. He relocated to WCVB in December 2015 from KPNX-TV in Phoenix, Arizona, where he worked as a news anchor for almost three years.
Prior to that, for two years, Doug served as both the host of “The Doug Meehan Show” on Boston’s WTKK 96.9 FM and a contributor to the New York-based Wall Street Journal Radio Network. Prior to that, for more than six and a half years, Doug worked as a renowned reporter and anchor at Boston’s WFXT-TV, where he was the market’s first full-time helicopter reporter, covering both traffic and breaking news.
Before that, Doug was a reporter and temporary anchor at Boston’s WHDH-TV. A reporter at KTVT-TV in Dallas for six years prior to that, Doug previously served as an anchor at WTSP-TV in Tampa, FL, KEYE-TV in Austin, TX, and WFAA-TV in Dallas, TX, where he hosted “Good Morning Texas” for the previous six years. Doug was a news, weather, and sports anchor at WPRI-TV in Providence, RI, before departing New England, and before that he was a reporter for New England Cable News.
