Dave Flemming Biography
Since 2003, American sportscaster Dave Flemming has provided play-by-play commentary for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball. On ESPN, he also makes announcements for Monday Night Baseball, College Football, and Basketball.
In addition to graduating from Stanford University with a classics bachelor’s and master’s degree, David attended St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School in 1994. Also, he holds a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Communications. Moreover, Flemming aired men’s and women’s basketball as well as baseball for the Stanford Cardinal while he was a student there.
Also, Dave started his first full season as a team announcer, working on San Francisco station KNBR and the Giants Radio Network with Miller, Duane Kulper, and Mike Krukow. He has called Giants games for 20 seasons and has been a part of many memorable on-air experiences. He also won three Northern California Emmys for his play-by-play analysis, and in 2008, the Sports Business Journal voted him the best baseball announcer of the new generation.
Moreover, Dave started calling a few games for the network the prior season before landing a regular announcer role for College Basketball on ESPN in 2010. After working as an announcer for a while, he made a reference to Cal Raleigh during the ninth inning of game two of the 2022 AL Wild Card Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners. He was joined by Jessica Mendoza, Tim Kurkjian, and Coley Harvey.
