American community journalist Ashley Mackey is currently employed at ABC7 as an Eyewitness News reporter and anchor. After anchoring and reporting for Cronkite News on Arizona PBS in Phoenix, Arizona, she joined the team in August 2019.

Ashley Mackey works for ABC7 Eyewitness News as a community journalist. After anchoring and reporting for Cronkite News on Arizona PBS in Phoenix, Arizona, she joined the team in August 2019.

Ashley received her broadcast journalism undergraduate degree from the University of Montana and her master’s degree in sports journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She received a tennis scholarship that covered her whole tuition at Montana, and once she finished, she spent two years playing professionally all around the world.

Ashley participated in the “Hate In America” project as a News21 fellow, which won the Robert F. Kennedy, Edward R. Murrow, BEA, and EPPY prizes. Additionally, she worked as an intern for the USTA.

Ashley is thrilled to be back in her hometown of Inglewood and to be writing about it. Alongside her fellow members of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority Inc., she gives back to her community.
