On Monday nights throughout her stay in school, she hosted radio shows on the nearby community radio station 2WAY FM located in Wauchope. After graduating from high school, she pursued a journalism degree at Charles Sturt University, where she also contributed news articles to the Australian Community Radio Network’s National Radio News service. She joined the Nine Network after earning her journalism degree, which included an internship at CBS in New York City. She started working in the media as a producer for Nightline in 2001. Later, in 2002, she served as a producer for National Nine News’ 6:00 p.m. bulletin.

In order to gain additional on-the-road experience, she later relocated to Nine’s Darwin newsroom, where she won the David Marchbank Award for the best rookie journalist in her first year there. As a political reporter for the Northern Territory, Langdon flew to China and East Timor to cover stories for the Sunday show and news.
