American journalist Renee Beninate joined News4Jax in June 2021 and is currently employed there as a reporter. She formerly worked as a reporter for WEAR-TV in Pensacola before joining News4Jax. She covered a wide range of issues while working for WEAR-TV, including the devastating NAS Pensacola terrorist assault and multiple hurricanes. The Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists awarded her for her coverage of Hurricane Sally in 2020.

Beninate spent two years in the Bayou reporting in Northeast Louisiana before she moved to the Panhandle. She has also worked in the print sector of the industry; at one point, she interned as a correspondent for The Gainesville Sun.
