Jasmine Felicia Crockett is an American lawyer and politician. Crockett was born on 29th March 1981. As a well known politician from Texa, Jasmine has been a U.S. representative from Texas’s 30th congressional district since January 2023 as a member of the Democratic Party. In addition, Jasmine’s district covers most of South Dallas County, Central Dallas, Dallas Love Field Airport, and parts of Tarrant County.
Moreover, Crockett served in the 118th Congress, as the Democratic freshman class representative between the House Democratic leadership and the (approximately) 35 newly-elected Democratic members. Crockett was nominated as co-chair of the 2024 Harris-Walz campaign. As of now, Crockett is a part of the Democratic Congressional Progressive Caucus.
Before,Jasmine Crockett represented the 100th district in the Texas House of Representatives. Previously, Jasmine was a public defender for Bowie County, Texas, and had previously practiced law in a private firm.
Jasmine Crockett Early Life, Age, Education
Jasmine was born in St. Louis, Missouri on 29th March 1981. She enrolled at Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School and Rosati-Kain, an all-girls Catholic high school in St. Louis. She receive her alma mater from Rhodes College in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration. As an undergraduate, Crockett had an ambition to become an anesthesiologist or certified public accountant prior to deciding to attend law school.
Jasmine, changed her career path due to experiencing a series of hate crimes while attending college and subsequently being represented by the Cochran Law Firm.
In 2006, Crockett graduated from the University of Houston Law Center, graduating with a Juris Doctor. Jasmine was a member of the National Bar Association and of the Dallas Black Criminal Bar Association.
Crockett accomplished law school studies and passed the bar examination shortly thereafter in 2006. Later, Crockett became a public defender for Bowie County, and formed a law firm, which took pro bono cases for Black Lives Matter activists.

In 2019, After Eric Johnson vacated his seat in the Texas House to become mayor of Dallas, a special election was held on 5th November with a runoff scheduled on January 28, 2020, for the remainder of his term, which Lorraine Birabil won. In 2020, Jasmine Crockett challenged Birabil in Democratic Party primary. Crockett narrowly defeated Birabil in a primary runoff, advancing to the November 2020 general election, which she won unopposed. Crockett assumed office in January 2021.

On 20th November, 2021, Eddie Bernice Johnson, incumbent U.S. representative of Texas’s 30th congressional district announced she would not seek reelection in 2022. Crockett declared her candidacy for the seat four days later. The incumbent U.S. representative of Texas 30th congreessional district simultaneously announced that she was backing Crockett.
In addition, Crockett received much extensive financial support from Super PACs aligned with the cryptocurrency industry, with Sam Bankman-Fried’s Protect Our Future PAC giving $1 million in support of her campaign. In the Democratic party primary election, Jasmine Crockett and Jane Hope Hamilton, an aide to Marc Veasey, advanced to a runoff election, which Crockett won. Further, in November 8, Jasmine won the general election. Crockett was elected to be the 118th Congress’s freshman class representative.

Jasmine Crockett Office Tenure
Crockett was among the 46 Democrats who voted against the final passage of the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023 in the House. Jasmine voted to provide Israel with support, following the 2023 Hamas attack on Israel.
Furthermore, she voted in favor of three military aid package supplementals for Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan, respectively, in 2024, April, along with most of her fellow Democrats.
In a 2023 impeachment hearing for President Joe Biden, Jasmine accused fellow congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene well as other Republicans of hypocrisy.
She asserted that those launching the impeachment inquiry, as well as those who brought-forth charges against former U.S. President Joe Biden, were ignoring documented evidence of President Donald Trump’s own criminal offenses; she displayed photos from the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago, depicting President Trump storing classified documents inside of a bathroom, to which she remarked, “These are our national secrets—looks like in the shitter to me.”
In 2024, Jasmine addressed the Democratic National Convention and referenced the incident. When comparing Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris to President Trump, Crockett said of the latter, “He keeps national secrets next to his thinking chair—y’all know what I said the other time.” She won a second term to House of Representatives in 2024.
